Shingrix is a recombinant zoster vaccine (RZV) used to prevent shingles (herpes zoster) and its complication, postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). It's recommended for adults aged 50 and older and for adults 18 and older at increased risk due to a weakened immune system. The vaccine is given as two intramuscular injections, with the second dose administered two months after the first, and provides strong protection against shingles and PHN.
