Description

Ciplox-D Eye/Ear Drops (10ml) is a dual-action, prescription-only combination medication containing Ciprofloxacin (0.3% w/v), a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and Dexamethasone (0.1% w/v), a potent corticosteroid. It is primarily used to treat bacterial infections of the eye and ear that are accompanied by significant inflammation, redness, or swelling. Primary Medical Uses 1. Eye Conditions (Ophthalmic Use) • Bacterial Conjunctivitis & Keratitis: It treats surface-level bacterial eye infections (like “pink eye“) while simultaneously calming inflammation, severe redness, itching, and soreness. • Post-Operative Inflammation: It is widely prescribed after eye surgeries (such as cataract surgery) to prevent bacterial infections and control surgical swelling, pain, and tissue inflammation. 2. Ear Conditions (Otic Use) • Acute Otitis Externa (Outer Ear Infections): Commonly known as “swimmer’s ear,“ it clears painful bacterial infections in the ear canal and reduces localized swelling and discharge. • Acute Otitis Media with Tympanostomy Tubes: It treats middle ear infections in patients (often children) who have ear tubes in place, allowing the drops to safely reach the middle ear cavity.
